Study the shared reading topics

The 190 and 890 frameworks share objectives in reading development, comprehension, assessment and instruction, plus written analysis of student reading. Our Foundations of Reading course provides study resources for these shared topics.

  • Phonemic awareness, phonics, word analysis and fluency
  • Vocabulary, literary texts and informational texts
  • Reading assessment, instruction and analysis of student evidence

The current course and its practice tools are organized for 890. Use them for shared reading concepts alongside your official 190 framework. Some framework wording and program rules differ; this guide does not certify complete 190 coverage or convert practice results into a state passing score.
