Terms of Use

Last updated: August 2, 2026

1. About TeacherPreps

TeacherPreps, LLC (“TeacherPreps,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides supplementary study materials, practice tests, video lessons, and related resources for teacher certification exam preparation. By using our website and services at teacherpreps.com, you agree to these Terms of Use.

2. Independent Provider Disclaimer

TeacherPreps is an independent test preparation provider. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Pearson Education, Educational Testing Service (ETS), the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC), or any state department of education, testing agency, or certification board. All exam names, including but not limited to Praxis, NES, CSET, FTCE, TExES, MTEL, NYSTCE, GACE, and PECT, are registered trademarks of their respective owners. Our use of these names is solely for identification purposes.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and able to form a binding contract to create an account or make a purchase. By creating an account or purchasing access, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements and that the registration and payment information you provide is accurate and belongs to you. TeacherPreps services are intended for use in the United States and are not directed to children.

4. Accounts and Account Security

Your account is personal to you. You are limited to one account per person, and you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us at support@teacherpreps.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your authorization.

TeacherPreps may monitor for indicators of credential sharing, including concurrent sessions and irregular access patterns, and may suspend or terminate accounts that appear to be shared, resold, or accessed by more than one individual, as described in Sections 16 and 22.

5. Exam Results and the TeacherPreps Guarantee

TeacherPreps provides supplementary study materials designed to support your exam preparation. We do not promise, warrant, or guarantee that using our materials will result in a passing score on any certification exam, or in a passing score within any particular number of attempts. Exam results depend on many factors, including but not limited to individual preparation, prior knowledge, study habits, and exam conditions. Our practice test scores and passing thresholds are internal benchmarks and do not represent or predict scores on actual certification exams.

What “guaranteed” means on our website. References to a guarantee in TeacherPreps marketing, including the phrase “Pass Your Teacher Exam, Guaranteed,” refer solely to the TeacherPreps Guarantee, which is a conditional free-access program. Under that program, if you satisfy every eligibility condition and still do not pass your certification exam, TeacherPreps extends your platform access free of charge, up to two additional months, so that you may continue preparing for your next attempt.

The TeacherPreps Guarantee is a commitment regarding continued access to our study materials. It is not a promise, warranty, or guarantee of any exam outcome, it does not guarantee that you will pass on any attempt, and it does not provide cash refunds. It is subject to eligibility conditions that include completing both full-length practice tests for your exam in Timed mode inside your TeacherPreps account and scoring at least 90% on each before your exam date, taking the official exam while your paid subscription is active or within seven (7) days after it ends, and submitting your official, unaltered score report within ninety (90) days of your exam date.

The complete terms of the TeacherPreps Guarantee, including all eligibility conditions, the claim procedure, and the calculation of free access, are set forth on our Guarantee page and are incorporated into these Terms by reference. If these Terms and the Guarantee page conflict as to the operation of the guarantee program, the Guarantee page controls. The guarantee terms in effect when a qualifying payment was made govern that payment.

6. Content Creation and Accuracy

TeacherPreps study materials are developed and edited in house. Our content is grounded in peer-reviewed educational resources, including OpenStax textbooks (Rice University), and aligned to national standards frameworks such as the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). All content undergoes quality review before publication.

While we strive for accuracy, we cannot guarantee that all content is error-free. Exam frameworks and standards are periodically updated by their respective governing bodies, and there may be a delay before our materials reflect these changes. If you identify an error in our content, please contact us at support@teacherpreps.com so we can review and correct it.

Certification requirements. TeacherPreps publishes general information about certification exams, including test summaries and state requirement pages. Certification and licensure requirements are established by state agencies and testing providers, not by TeacherPreps, and they change without notice to us. This information is provided for convenience only and is not certification advice. You are solely responsible for confirming which exams you must take, your eligibility, registration deadlines, and passing requirements directly with your state agency or testing provider before purchasing or preparing.

7. Practice Tests, Automated Scoring, and Assistant Responses

TeacherPreps practice tests, quizzes, and constructed response exercises are practice instruments intended to help you prepare. Scores, percentages, and passing thresholds shown in your account are internal TeacherPreps benchmarks. They are not official scores and are not scaled, equated, or validated against any certification exam.

Constructed response exercises are evaluated using automated scoring tools. The scores and written feedback you receive are estimates produced for practice purposes only. They are not official scores, they are not provided, reviewed, endorsed, or validated by any testing agency, scoring service, or certification board, and they may differ, in either direction, from the results you receive on an official exam. You should not rely on automated scores or feedback as a prediction of your official exam outcome, and automated feedback does not constitute professional, academic, legal, or career advice.

TeacherPreps may revise, retrain, or replace its scoring methods and rubrics at any time as exam frameworks change. Such changes do not entitle you to a refund or credit. Where practice test performance affects eligibility under the TeacherPreps Guarantee, eligibility is determined solely from our server records of completed attempts in your account, as stated on the Guarantee page.

Assistant responses. TeacherPreps provides automated assistants, including a study tutor inside the platform and an assistant on our contact page. Their responses are generated automatically, are provided for general information and study support, may be incomplete or inaccurate, and do not constitute professional, academic, legal, financial, or certification advice. Automated assistants cannot cancel your subscription, issue refunds, or change your billing. Account and billing matters are handled only by email with support@teacherpreps.com or by you directly, using the steps in Section 11.

8. Subscription & Billing

TeacherPreps currently offers the following plans:

  • Monthly Plan, $39.97/month: A recurring subscription billed automatically each month until cancelled. By selecting this plan, you authorize TeacherPreps to charge your payment method on a monthly basis at the then-current rate.

TeacherPreps may from time to time offer one-time passes that provide access for a fixed period. One-time passes are not subscriptions, do not renew, and expire automatically at the end of their stated access period.

Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled in advance. You are responsible for ensuring your payment method remains valid. TeacherPreps reserves the right to modify pricing at any time; any changes to your subscription rate will be communicated prior to taking effect.

All prices are stated in U.S. dollars and are exclusive of any applicable sales, use, or similar taxes, which will be added where required by law.

All charges, including automatic renewal charges, are final and non-refundable as set forth in Section 10. It is your responsibility to cancel your subscription before your next renewal date using the steps in Section 11.

9. Failed Payments and Suspension

If a scheduled charge is declined or otherwise fails, our payment processor may reattempt the charge over a limited retry period. During that period your access may be suspended. If payment is not successfully collected, TeacherPreps may suspend or cancel your subscription and revoke access without further notice. Restoring access after a failed payment requires a successful charge on a valid payment method. Amounts already collected remain non-refundable under Section 10.

10. Refund Policy

All payments to TeacherPreps are final and non-refundable. Access to our study materials is granted immediately upon successful payment, and no refunds or credits are issued once the payment processor has completed the transaction. This applies to initial purchases, automatic subscription renewals, and any unused portion of a billing period, whether or not you have accessed the materials.

By completing your purchase, you acknowledge that you are receiving immediate access to digital content and you waive any right to a refund, including any right of withdrawal or cooling-off period that might otherwise apply to digital goods.

We do not issue partial refunds or prorated credits for cancellations made in the middle of a billing period. When you cancel, you retain access through the end of the billing period you have already paid for, as described in Section 11.

This section applies except where a refund is expressly required by applicable law. If applicable law entitles you to a refund that this section would otherwise exclude, that law controls only to the minimum extent required, and the remainder of this section stays in full force.

Nothing in this section limits any rights you may have under the TeacherPreps Guarantee described in Section 5, which provides extended platform access rather than cash refunds. See our Guarantee page for eligibility requirements and claim procedures.

11. Cancellation Policy

Your subscription renews automatically each billing period until you cancel it. It is the sole responsibility of the customer to cancel their own subscription before the next renewal date. A failure to cancel before renewal does not entitle you to a refund of the renewal charge, and TeacherPreps is not responsible for charges that result from a failure to cancel.

You can cancel at any time, in less than a minute, directly from your account. You do not need to contact us, call anyone, or explain why.

  1. Log in to your account at teacherpreps.com.
  2. Open Account from the navigation menu.
  3. Select the Billing tab.
  4. Click Cancel Subscription and confirm.

Your Billing tab will then show that your subscription is scheduled to cancel, along with the date your access ends. You may also click Manage Subscription on the same screen to open our secure billing portal, where you can update your payment method, view your invoices, or cancel.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid billing period. You keep full access to your materials until that date and you will not be billed again. If you change your mind before the period ends, you can click Resume Subscription on the same screen to continue your subscription without interruption.

One-time passes do not renew and therefore do not require cancellation. They expire automatically at the end of their access period.

If you are unable to complete cancellation for any reason, email support@teacherpreps.com before your renewal date and include the email address on your account, and we will help you complete it.

12. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

If you have a question about a charge, contact support@teacherpreps.com before contacting your bank or card issuer. Most billing questions are resolved by email the same way they arise.

Initiating a chargeback, payment dispute, or reversal on a valid charge is a breach of these Terms. TeacherPreps may immediately suspend or terminate the associated account and revoke access, may decline to reinstate the account or sell future access to you, and may recover the disputed amount together with any fees assessed by our payment processor, including through a collection agency. Records of your account activity, including logins and materials accessed, may be submitted as evidence in response to a dispute.

13. California Residents

Automatic renewal acknowledgment. If you are a California resident, you acknowledge and agree that your TeacherPreps subscription is an automatically renewing subscription: it continues and your payment method is charged $39.97 each month at the then-current rate until you cancel, there is no fixed end date, and you may cancel at any time. TeacherPreps will provide notice of any change to your subscription rate before that change takes effect.

Online cancellation. Because you enrolled online, you may cancel online. Log in, open Account and then the Billing tab, and click Cancel Subscription, as described in Section 11. You are not required to call us, speak with anyone, or give a reason.

Consumer complaint notice. Under California Civil Code Section 1789.3, California residents are entitled to the following notice. The Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs may be contacted in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, California 95834, or by telephone at (800) 952-5210.

Nothing in these Terms waives any right that cannot be waived under California law.

14. Amazon Study Guide Promotional Discount

Purchasers of TeacherPreps study guides sold through Amazon.com may be eligible to receive a promotional discount on TeacherPreps subscription products. The following terms apply to this offer:

  • Eligibility: The promotional discount is available exclusively to individuals who have purchased a qualifying TeacherPreps study guide through Amazon. Proof of purchase may be required.
  • Validity Period: The promotional discount code is valid for thirty (30) days from the date it is made available. Codes that are not redeemed within this period will expire and cannot be reinstated.
  • Subscription Responsibility: If the promotional discount is applied toward a recurring subscription plan, the customer acknowledges and agrees that they are enrolling in an automatically renewing subscription. The promotional rate applies only to the initial billing period, after which the subscription will renew at the then-current standard rate. It is the sole responsibility of the customer to cancel their subscription prior to the next renewal date if they do not wish to be charged. TeacherPreps is not responsible for charges that result from a failure to cancel a subscription in accordance with the Cancellation Policy set forth in Section 11 of these Terms.
  • Non-Transferable: Promotional discount codes are for single use, are non-transferable, and may not be combined with any other offer or promotion.
  • Modifications: TeacherPreps reserves the right to modify or discontinue this promotional offer at any time without prior notice.

15. Free Materials and Downloads

TeacherPreps offers free study guides, practice materials, PDF downloads, and similar resources, generally in exchange for an email address. These free materials are provided as-is and as-available, for personal use only, without any warranty as to accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.

Free materials are not part of a paid subscription and are not covered by the TeacherPreps Guarantee. TeacherPreps may modify, limit, or discontinue any free offering at any time and without notice. Free materials remain the intellectual property of TeacherPreps and are subject to Section 16. If you provide your email address to receive free materials, you may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any message, as described in our Privacy Policy.

16. Intellectual Property

All TeacherPreps content, including study guides, practice questions, video lessons, PDF workbooks, and vocabulary materials, is proprietary to TeacherPreps, LLC. Your subscription provides a single-user license for personal use only. Sharing login credentials, redistributing materials, or using our content for commercial purposes without written permission will result in immediate access termination without refund.

You may not copy, download in bulk, scrape, republish, resell, or create derivative works from our materials, and you may not use automated tools to extract content from the platform. TeacherPreps reserves all rights not expressly granted.

17. Your Content and Feedback

“Your Content” means anything you submit through the platform, including answers and written constructed responses, messages to our study tutor, support messages, error reports, and any testimonial or review you provide. You retain ownership of Your Content.

You grant TeacherPreps a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and process Your Content solely to operate, secure, support, and improve the services, including generating your scores and feedback, maintaining your progress records, verifying eligibility under the TeacherPreps Guarantee, and responding to you. This license ends when Your Content is deleted from our systems, except for records we are required to retain or that exist in routine backups.

Testimonials and reviews. If you submit a testimonial, review, or written statement about your experience, you grant TeacherPreps permission to publish and use it in marketing materials, identified by first name and last initial, along with your exam and state where you provide them. You may withdraw this permission for future use by emailing support@teacherpreps.com.

Feedback. If you send us suggestions, feature requests, or ideas for improving TeacherPreps, you grant us an unrestricted, perpetual, irrevocable right to use them for any purpose without compensation, attribution, or obligation. Feedback and unsolicited ideas are not confidential.

You represent that Your Content is yours to submit, does not infringe the rights of others, does not violate any law or any agreement you have with a testing provider, and contains no actual exam content as described in Section 18. TeacherPreps may remove Your Content, and may suspend or terminate accounts, for violations of this section.

18. Exam Integrity and Original Works

All TeacherPreps study materials, including lessons, practice questions, constructed response prompts, vocabulary, workbooks, and video content, are original works created by TeacherPreps. Our practice questions are not actual exam questions and are not copied, adapted, reconstructed, or paraphrased from any exam publisher, testing agency, or third-party prep provider. We reference official exam frameworks only for non-copyrightable factual information such as exam length, time limits, scoring structure, subarea names, and content weightings.

You may not upload, paste, transmit, or otherwise share actual certification exam content anywhere on the platform, including questions you recall from an exam you have taken, in practice test responses, tutor conversations, support messages, or error reports. TeacherPreps does not solicit, want, or knowingly retain such content.

Certification exams are administered under confidentiality and nondisclosure agreements between you and the testing provider. You are solely responsible for complying with those agreements. TeacherPreps may remove any content that appears to contain actual exam material and may suspend or terminate the account that submitted it, without refund.

19. Acceptable Use

You agree that you will not, and will not permit anyone else to:

  • Share, sell, rent, sublicense, or otherwise provide access to your account or to TeacherPreps materials to any other person.
  • Copy, download in bulk, scrape, crawl, index, or use any bot, script, or automated means to access, extract, or collect content from the platform.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code, models, rubrics, or underlying structure of the platform.
  • Circumvent, disable, or interfere with paywalls, access controls, usage limits, copy protection, authentication, or security features.
  • Republish, redistribute, or create derivative works from TeacherPreps content, or use it to build, train, or improve a competing product or service.
  • Upload or transmit malware, attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account or system, or otherwise disrupt or impair the platform or its infrastructure.
  • Submit false, fraudulent, or altered documentation, including in connection with a TeacherPreps Guarantee claim or a payment dispute.
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse TeacherPreps staff or other customers.
  • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms, including Section 18.

Violations may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund, as described in Section 22.

20. Copyright Complaints

TeacherPreps respects the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe material available through our website infringes your copyright, send a written notice to support@teacherpreps.com with the subject line “DMCA Notice,” including: identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed; identification of the material claimed to be infringing and its location on our site; your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address; a statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner; and your physical or electronic signature.

TeacherPreps will investigate valid notices, may remove or disable access to the material identified, and may terminate the accounts of repeat infringers. If you believe material was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice to the same address containing the information required by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

21. Service Availability and Modifications

TeacherPreps does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the platform. Access may be unavailable during maintenance, updates, or events outside our control.

Your purchase provides access to the platform as it exists during your access period, not to any specific course, lesson, video, practice test, or feature. We continuously revise our materials as exam frameworks change, and we may add, modify, replace, or retire courses, content, and features at any time. Such changes do not entitle you to a refund or credit.

Third-party services. TeacherPreps relies on third-party providers to deliver parts of the platform, including payment processing, video hosting, and email delivery, and our website may link to third-party sites such as state agencies and testing providers. Those services and sites are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. TeacherPreps does not control them and is not responsible for their content, availability, or practices.

22. Termination

You may stop using TeacherPreps at any time by cancelling under Section 11. TeacherPreps may suspend or terminate your account and revoke access, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, including the account, intellectual property, or chargeback provisions, or if we reasonably believe your use creates legal or security risk to TeacherPreps or other customers.

Termination for breach does not entitle you to a refund of any amount paid. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including Sections 10, 12, 16, 17, 18, 19, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, and 31, survive.

23. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TeacherPreps services and all content are provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. TeacherPreps specifically disclaims all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement, and any warranty that the services will be uninterrupted, secure, accurate, complete, or error-free, or that they will produce any particular exam result. No advice or information obtained from TeacherPreps creates any warranty not expressly stated in these Terms.

24. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TeacherPreps, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of income, career opportunities, or exam fees, arising out of or related to your use of our services. Our total liability for all claims shall not exceed the amount you paid to TeacherPreps in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Time limit for claims. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, any claim or cause of action arising out of or related to these Terms, your purchase, or your use of TeacherPreps must be filed within one (1) year after the claim arose. A claim not filed within that period is permanently barred. This limitation applies to claims brought in arbitration under Section 26 as well as to claims brought in court, and it does not apply where applicable law prohibits shortening the limitations period.

25. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless TeacherPreps, LLC and its officers, members, employees, and contractors from and against any claims, demands, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorney fees, arising out of or related to: your breach of these Terms; your misuse of the platform or of TeacherPreps content, including any unauthorized copying, sharing, or redistribution; any content you submit, including any actual exam material submitted in violation of Section 18; your violation of any confidentiality or nondisclosure agreement with a testing provider; and your violation of any law or of the rights of any third party.

TeacherPreps reserves the right to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, at your expense, in which case you agree to cooperate with our defense of that claim.

26. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration

Please read this section carefully. It affects your legal rights, including your right to file a lawsuit in court.

Informal resolution first. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at support@teacherpreps.com and give us sixty (60) days to resolve the dispute informally.

Binding arbitration. If the dispute is not resolved, you and TeacherPreps agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of TeacherPreps will be resolved by final and binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. Arbitration will take place in Travis County, Texas, or, at your election, by telephone, video, or written submission.

Class action and jury trial waiver. You and TeacherPreps agree that each may bring claims against the other only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding. You and TeacherPreps waive any right to a trial by jury.

Exceptions. Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court, and either party may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property rights or prevent unauthorized use of the platform.

Your right to opt out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@teacherpreps.com with the subject line “Arbitration Opt-Out” within thirty (30) days of first accepting these Terms, and including the email address on your account. Opting out will not affect any other part of these Terms or your access to TeacherPreps.

If the class action waiver above is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim will proceed in court and all other claims remain subject to arbitration.

27. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Subject to Section 26, you and TeacherPreps agree that any action not subject to arbitration shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

28. Changes to These Terms

TeacherPreps may update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and material changes affecting billing or cancellation will take effect no earlier than the start of your next billing period. Your continued use of TeacherPreps, or renewal of your subscription, after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to a change, your remedy is to cancel your subscription under Section 11 before it takes effect.

29. Electronic Communications

You consent to receive communications from TeacherPreps electronically, including account, billing, renewal, and service notices sent to the email address on your account or posted on our website. You agree that these electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement that a communication be in writing. It is your responsibility to keep the email address on your account current and to ensure our messages are not filtered as spam.

30. Accessibility

TeacherPreps is committed to making its study materials usable by as many learners as possible, and we work to improve the accessibility of our platform on an ongoing basis. If you encounter a barrier to accessing any part of TeacherPreps, or if you need materials provided in an alternative format, contact support@teacherpreps.com with the subject line “Accessibility” and a description of the difficulty you experienced. We will work with you in good faith to provide access to the information or functionality you need.

31. General Provisions

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and all remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any terms presented at the point of purchase, constitute the entire agreement between you and TeacherPreps and supersede any prior understandings or communications.

No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.

Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your account or these Terms. TeacherPreps may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Force majeure. TeacherPreps is not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages of hosting, payment, or network providers.

32. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, making a purchase, or using our website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. You specifically acknowledge that subscriptions renew automatically, that all payments are final and non-refundable, that you are responsible for cancelling your own subscription, and that disputes are resolved by individual arbitration under Section 26 unless you opt out.
